Cardiac Rehab Internship, Alexandria, VA

I am writing in hopes to expand our educational partnership to include clinical rotation(s) for ourCardiac Rehabilitation setting. At Inova Mount Vernon Hospital, we have countless learning opportunities for those interested in Exercise Science or Exercise Physiology. We are excited to expand these opportunities to our well-established Cardiac Rehab Program, which is certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). We’d be open to collaborating on the specifics of this rotation, but have included some bullet points to consider.

What we are looking for in a potential student:

·         BLS Certified

·         Personable and eager to learn in a clinical environment

·         Available locally to participate in May-July or August time frame

What we would provide to the student (includes but not limited to):

·         Education and training throughout internship on

o   Patient care

o   Exercise prescription

o   Medical evaluations

o   Blood pressures

o   Patient education

o   Satisfaction of required 300-600 internship hours (unpaid)
