Graduate Program - Individuals with Disabilities UVA

MASTERS PROGRAM IN KINESIOLOGY FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES
University of Virginia – Department of Kinesiology


TheUniversity of Virginia has been offering a one year Masters Program inKinesiology for Individuals with Disabilities (KID) since 1978. This program is designed for physical education majors interested in working with children with disabilities in a school-based setting as well as pre-physical and pre-occupational therapy students who want extra pediatric experiences before applying to graduate school. The program is comprised of 36 semester hours in kinesiology and individuals with disabilities distributed across two summers and two semesters. The program culminates in a comprehensive examination (there are no research requirements for this program).

Adapted Physical Education Graduate Program at UVA

My name is Martin Block, and I am a Professor in Kinesiology at the
University of Virginia. We have a one-year Masters Program in
"Kinesiology for Students with Disabilities." This program targets both
physical educators who are interested in teaching children with
disabilities as well as those students who are interested in becoming a
pediatric physical or occupational therapist.
