Fieldwork Info Sessions

Do you need to complete KIN 471 Practicum or KIN 481 Internship during Spring 2019? You must attend a mandatory information session. Only those students who attend the information session will be allowed to complete fieldwork. Meeting times are:

Mon Oct 15. 2:30pm-3:30pm. Godwin Hall Room 337

Tues Oct 16. 5pm-6pm. Godwin Hall Room 337

Wed Oct 17. 8:00am-9:00am. Godwin Hall Room 344

Next, prepare the following documents to bring to your information session:

1.    Current resume

2.    Your five and ten year professional goals

3.    A list of 3-5 potential sites for your practicum or internship

4.    The semester you are planning on completing your fieldwork

5.    Application for Fieldwork**

After your site has been secured, you will submit the following form to Jana:

Finally, the deadline to submit your Agency Acceptance Form to complete Spring 2019 fieldwork is Friday Dec 7. This is the last day of classes this semester. Start this process soon! Many sites fill their opportunities 6-8 weeks before the deadline.

Position Summary

The Cardiac Technician performs patient-related duties and provides support to providers and the clinical team delivered in a manner consistent with Virginia Heart’s mission of excellence in cardiovascular care. The Cardiac Tech is a member of the clinical team and contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the clinical flow of the office. May be required to cover other offices on occasion.

Corporate Wellness and Fitness Internship, Fredericksburg, VA

From a JMU Master of Science Alumna:

EXOS Corporate Fitness

Each of our locations may offer a slightly different internship opportunity, however interns will generally gain experience in conducting fitness testing and evaluation, providing safe and effective exercise programs and group exercise, assisting in planning and implementation of health promotion and incentive programs, high risk member management, and program administration. Some locations may also provide exposure to injury prevention and on-site rehabilitation. As a corporate wellness intern you will be responsible for assisting your manager and site-based team in the management of our client’s onsite wellness and fitness programs. To be successful as an intern you must feel comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities will demand an organized individual with a desire to learn the Corporate Wellness and Fitness  industry. Interns will also have the opportunity to gain their EXOS Fitness Specialist Certification (XFS).
