Fitness Center Specialist:

We are currently seeking a full-time Fitness Center Specialist to join our team.  The Fitness Center Specialist will be a part of a dynamic fitness center team to help provide an engaging and empowered whole person wellness experience for our residents and team members. 

The successful candidate will have a passion for innovative well-being in the fitness industry.  A bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, exercise science, public health, health promotion or related fields is required. Personal training certification required OR a group fitness instruction certification with a pursuit of personal training certification within six months of hire. First Aid, CPR & AED certification will be required. Previous work experience with the senior population or in the senior living industry is strongly preferred.  The Specialist must demonstrate initiative, organization skills, mature judgement, and be self-driven with wellness programming. The Fitness Center Specialist will assist in conducting fitness assessments, exercise prescriptions, instruction of group fitness classes, knowledge of fitness equipment and support of our fitness program across the continuum. Technology is something that forms the basis for your work, so the candidate must possess a comfortable level of technology use.

What is Empowerment3? 

E3 Mission:

We seek to empower individuals and their families, professionals (in-service and pre-service), and communities, using the vehicles of physical activity and mentorship.

What We Do:

E3 conducts programming, research, training, and support to improve the physical and mental health as well as the quality of life, of underserved populations. 

Who We Serve:

E3’s health promotion efforts serve Individuals with disabilities, older adults, chronic conditions, refugees, at-risk youth, and many others.

Summer camp employment

 Hello JMU Kinesiology Department: 

 

I hope this message finds you well! My name is Whitney Civitts, and I'm the Camp Director at Camp Easterseals Virginia. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share more about our amazing program.

  • At Camp Easterseals Virginia, we're dedicated to providing a safe, fun, and supportive environment where people with disabilities can explore new activities, build lasting friendships, and gain confidence and independence. Whether it's horseback riding, swimming, arts and crafts, or just hanging out with friends, there's something for everyone at Camp Easterseals Virginia. We're committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming community where everyone feels valued, supported, and can have fun.  

 

To assist in creating the inclusive and welcoming community we are known for. We are currently searching for volunteers and staff for SUMMER 2023!! Staff include- Camp Counselors and Program Staff (climbing wall/adventure staff, horse specialists, lifeguards, etc).  We offer competitive salary, climate-controlled cabins, hands on experience caring for individuals with disabilities, opportunity for personal growth, and so much more!
