My name is Phil Wykowski, and I am the Founder and Director of Toucan Abroad, a PT Shadowing Abroad Program. I was referred to you by a former James Madison University Exercise Science student who has formerly been on a program with us. We have loved hosting her and other JMU students who have taken part in our programs in the past!
Toucan Abroad provides pre-physical therapy students the opportunity to shadow licensed physical therapists in our partnered clinics to acquire 60 verified observation hours. We are currently offering 2 and 3-week programs in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and Cartago, Costa Rica, where participants observe new PT practice techniques while experiencing the rich culture and natural beauty of Latin America. We are also looking at expanding to Europe soon.
What sets us apart from other study abroad programs is that we are the only provider that offers clinical PT observation hours, and our program is suitable for any student considering physical therapy school in the future. We were recently awarded "#1 Top Overall Study Abroad Provider" among many other providers on GoOverseas, and I invite you to read previous participants' testimonials. You can also see our Testimonial Video here.
Educational Housing Services in NYC
Greetings from NYC! As the old saying goes, “If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere,” which is why every year, thousands of college students set their sights on a summer internship at one of the countless leading companies based in NYC. Educational Housing Services (EHS) is proud to provide safe housing for interns as they pursue their career goals in the city, and warmly welcomed 1800+ residents from across the U.S. and beyond last year. Looking for an internship in New York City? While no Exercise Science students have used this that I am aware of, a service like this one can you find housing. Something similar may exist in other cities, too!
My name is Robert Gardner and I am a strength and conditioning coach at Bridgewater College. I am reaching out to let you know that we are seeking interns for the Spring 2024 semester. We are looking for motivated students who have an interest in strength and conditioning and want to get into coaching. If you could pass this along to any of your upperclassman kinesiology students, it would be greatly appreciated. Anyone who is interested can reach me at rgardner@bridgewater.edu or strength@bridgewater.edu.
Thank you for your time,
Robert Gardner MS CSCS rgardner@bridgewater.edu |
From a 2021 alumna:
I was a Kinesiology student at JMU, graduated in 2021! I am still an Exercise Physiologist at Inova Loudoun Hospital Cardiac Rehab and am working on our internship project. I wanted to reach out to you as a touch point for any Kin students looking for an internship. We receive plenty of GMU students so I figure I recruit some Dukes! Let me know if you have any questions. Have a great weekend.
