Volunteers needed - VAIL

My name is Tim Davis and I run the Harrisonburg adult wheelchair basketball team, the VAIL Harrisonburg Cardinals. We have a tournament coming up on November 23rd and 24th and will have three other Virginia teams coming into Harrisonburg. We’re very excited to showcase the incredible skills of our players and players from around the state but have had some trouble with securing volunteers to help us out with running the scoreboard, shot clock, and score book. The tournament is happening the weekend leading into Thanksgiving break, which makes it tough for students to still be in the area and available to volunteer.

I’m reaching out to see if you would be willing to open the opportunity up to some of your Kinesiology students! It would be a great opportunity not only for them to help out a local nonprofit organization, but also great experience for the future for working with individuals with spinal cord injuries, especially those interested in adaptive recreation opportunities! We have two scorekeepers already committed, so we only need 3-4 more people in order to have enough numbers for the weekend. I’m attaching a schedule of the games for both days to this email in case they would like to know times in advance, but please let me know if there’s any more information that you need, or if you have any questions at all! Thank you so much, and I look forward to hearing back from you!
