KIN 381: Practicum in Exercise Science and KIN 481: Internship in Exercise Science are required courses for Exercise Science students.
KIN 381 requires 90 hours at a facility of your choosing. The KIN 381 course is worth 3 credit hours, and should be completed during the summer before, fall, spring, or summer after junior year.
KIN 481 is completed most frequently as a 4-credit hour course, requiring 160 hours. 8- and 12-credit sections are also offered. Only one section of KIN 481 is required to complete your degree. The experience is completed at a facility of your choosing. KIN 481 should be completed during fall, spring, or summer of senior year. It can also be completed the summer before senior year as long as KIN 381 is already complete.
KIN 381 and KIN 481 may not be completed during the same semester.
Required information sessions are offered every October and March to help students get started on planning KIN 381/481. For your planning purposes, you are allowed to attend before being admitted to the Exercise Science program.
