Wellness Center Instructor - Intern/Practicum Student

LOCATION:	Summit Square Retirement Community 501 Oak Avenue Waynesboro, VA 22980
DEPARTMENT:	Resident Services
EMPLOYMENT STATUS:	Temporary - Intern/Practicum Student
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:	We are seeking a creative, energetic, highly motivated individual to lead group exercise classes, interacting with residents on an individual basis with regards to exercise needs, and maintain an atmosphere within the wellness program that meets the physical, social, spiritual, and intellectual needs of the residents.
QUALIFICATIONS:	Required: Current college student Pursuing a degree in athletic training, kinesiology, physical therapy, recreation or similar Strong verbal and written communication skills Computer skills to include Microsoft Word and Microsoft Publisher Preferred: Certified Personal Trainer First Aid and CPR Certifications Previous experience with Alzheimer’s, dementia, and/or the elderly
HOURS:	Must be able to work Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 12:00PM. from the beginning of the fall 2013 semester - January 3, 2014 Holiday’s off include: Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day
COMPENSATION:	Yes/Hourly
