Personal Training recruiters from LifeTime Fitness will be on-campus in Godwin Hall Room 344 on Friday October 23 from 10am – 1pm to provide information regarding personal training internship and employment opportunities.

You do not have to attend the entire 3 hours. Each presentation will be the same, to allow as many people as possible the opportunity to attend. Attend for as long as you can, when you can.
 
Dress is business casual. Bring a resume and cover letter to leave if you are interested in being considered for a spring semester internship or employment.

Part-time Lifeguard Employment at Sunnyside Retirement Community

Lifeguard  - Come join our nationally recognized Wellness Team for an opportunity to grow and learn in the field of Fitness and Wellness. Part-time position working 16-32 hours every two weeks; and on Saturdays. Responsibilities include assisting senior residents with one-to-one exercise sessions, and guarding the pool areas. Qualified applicants should have a High School diploma and 3 years experience in lifeguarding/aquatic fitness or a combination of education and experience in field.  Must have current lifeguard certification. University of Idaho Master of Science in Athletic Training

The University of Idaho, Department of Movement Sciences is recruiting students for its Entry-level Master’s Degree in Athletic Training (MSAT).

The UI’s MSAT program prepares you for a career in athletic training.  Athletic training is a health care profession that is predicted to grow 37% from 2008-2018, a growth rate that is much faster than the national average for all occupations. Athletic trainers work daily with patients across the lifespan; including athletes. As a student in the UI’s MSAT program, you will learn to prevent, treat, and rehabilitate injuries and illnesses. You will also learn about professional development and organization and administration in healthcare. Each day in the athletic training program presents new and exciting clinical opportunities.

1.        Masters of Science in Athletic Training.
2.        Masters of Education in Physical Education for those who already have teacher certification
3.        Masters of Education plus certification in which you can earn a graduate degree as well as teacher certification in Physical Education.
4.        Masters of Science in Movement and Leisure Sciences with an emphasis in Physical Education, Sport Psychology, Recreation, or Exercise Science.

Spring 2016 Internships, Practica, and Independent Studies

We're glad you're considering the MBC as a place to complete your practicum, internship, or independent study! 
There will be an interest session on Wednesday, October 21st at 7:30pm in Godwin 339/340.
  • At this session, we'll talk about what we do in the MBC, as well as what you would be doing as a practicum or internship student.  We'll also explain the application process.
  • If you cannot make this meeting, please contact Dr. Edwards (edwardes@jmu.edu) or Dr. Carson Sackett (carsonsa@jmu.edu) to set up an alternate meeting.
