Strength and Conditioning at JMU

Event Planning Internship - Harrisonburg

VA Momentum internships are perfect for building your professional portfolio, completing specific academic requirements, or simply gaining experience in an area of interest. Though not paid, we guarantee you'll get plenty of VA Momentum swag, have an insanely good time, and be part of the family for years to come.

We are currently in need of summer interns. This position would ideally run from early-May through the end of August, but we are flexible on the timing. The bullet points below provide some ideas of what the internship entails, but we'd love to talk about your needs as well.

VA Momentum Summer Internship 
  • Market and promote the Valley 4th RUN and Three Brothers Three Miler (fun, grassroots “boots on the ground” kind of stuff).
  • Develop and implement logistical event plans (i.e., where the magic happens).
  • Brainstorm new, cool ideas on dry erase boards and flip chart paper.
  • High-five and lead volunteers on race days.
  • Identify areas for tweaking and lead projects to fruition.
  • If interested, take on photography and video projects for pre/during/post event communications.

Personal Training recruiters from LifeTime Fitness will be on-campus in Godwin Hall Room 344 on Friday April 17 from 9am-Noon to provide information regarding personal training internship and employment opportunities.

Graduate Assistantship at Salisbury University

Salisbury University is seeking applicants for graduate teaching assistant positions in the Department of Health and Sport Sciences. Graduate assistants are responsible for teaching the lecture and/or activity components of our general education fitness and wellness course.

Graduate Assistant Positions at University of Pittsburgh

GSA POSITIONS AVAILABLE IN HEALTH & PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

The HPA Department at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking
Masters-level graduate student assistants (GSAs). The duties of these GSAs
would be to help with teaching in the following areas:
-general physical education program
-faculty and staff health and fitness program
-student fitness or aquatics center
-research in a laboratory setting

Requirements for consideration for a GSA position:
-admitted to a Masters-level program with the HPA Department
-background in exercise science, athletic training, physical education,
nutrition, or related field
-at least a 3.0 GPA in their undergraduate training
-demonstrated experience in fitness, aerobics, aquatics, or
team/individual sports
-has the appropriate certifications

Employment in Harrisonburg

Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital (SRMH) is looking to fulfill a position that would overlap in the Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab departments - Bachelor's Degree is required.

It's half secretarial (patient calls, pre-authorization, scheduling) and half education (pre-surgical, post sugical, etc) - Two days per week (Tues + Thurs) for approximately 8 hour shifts.
