Spring 2013 - UREC

UREC asked me to announce that they are no longer accepting applications for practicum/internship for the Spring 2013 semester.

At this point, they are still accepting applications for Summer 2013 and Fall 2013.

Sport Management Internship - Baltimore

Received this message today about an internship opportunity for summer 2013 in the Sports Management/Administration/Events field.
Aloha Tournaments, a Baltimore, MD based company, is the world’s largest youth lacrosse tournament company. In 2012, over 40,000 athletes, between the ages of 7-18 competed in twenty different events.  Aloha Tournaments hosts some of the largest, most well run lacrosse and field hockey events in the nation. While the competition is always top notch, emphasis is placed on providing each player, along with their family and friends, a unique experience.
We are looking for two interns for summer 2013 who will serve as the right hand to the Tournament Director for each event from start to finish. The intern will have a wide variety of responsibilities throughout the summer from preparing to execution and the final wrap up of each event. Also, each intern will be assigned a summer long project they will be responsible for completing and presenting to Aloha Tournament’s staff at the conclusion of their internship.
Thank you in advance for passing this internship opportunity along to your students. Attached please find a detailed description of the internship, compensation and application process. Questions should be directed to info@alohatournaments.com or 410-252-5642.

Operations Intern USOC

Not entirely Exercise Science, but I received this posting by email. Here's a quick description: Provide direct support to the Operations Department for all program-related functions. Work directly with National Governing Bodies (NGBs) to coordinate camps and clinics at the Olympic Training Center (OTC). Assist with events at the OTC and aid with program logistics of short-term programs. Day-to-day interaction with resident athletes and OTC guests, including the registration of all users of the CSOTC, and direct contact with other OTC divisions (dining, transportation, venues, etc).
Our internship offers an intern the opportunity to gain experience with logistics and event planning experience. A unique chance will be given to the intern this upcoming Spring semester, as he/she will get to work directly with our Events Staff. For approximately two months, he/she will be assisting with our large-scale events on the complex, such as the Dave Schultz WRE tournament, the Boxing National Championships, Rhythmic Gymnastics Challenge, and the Colorado Open (Dan Zimpher Memorial Tournament).
