Tennis coach

Wanted- Female Assistant Tennis Coach for Varsity Girls' Tennis at Harrisonburg High School.  Great opportunity for any interested candidates.  Season starts Feb. 18th and runs through mid-May.  Practice is 4-6 weekdays, need to be able to leave earlier on game days.  Possible small stipend.  Please contact Joel King (head coach) at kingjoelb@gmail.com.

Sport & Health Summer Internships

We're searching for summer interns in our athletic performance program!

Explosive Performance (EP) has been providing the highest level of training since 1997, designed to enhance and improve every aspect of an athlete's performance. EP specializes in improving the ability to react quicker with bursts of explosive speed and power, which is an asset for any sport. EP was recently recommended by the NFL Players Association.

We are a fast-growing sports training program and have had great success in recruiting new talent to our team through our internship program.

Benefits to our Interns:
Our interns can make as much as $6,000 during the 12-week program, and will become proficient in all aspects of the system including testing and evaluation, SMR, AIS, dynamic warm-up, power and speed development, strength training, corrective exercises, ESD, and flexibility training.

Fieldwork Information Sessions

Do you need to complete KIN 471 Practicum or KIN 481 Internship* during the Summer OR Fall 2013 semester?  You must attend a mandatory information session. (*If you completed KIN 471 with a Satisfactory grade you do not have to attend the information session to complete KIN 481 Internship! The deadline to submit the Agency Acceptance Form does apply to you, though.) Times are:

This is a unique position because we are looking for a candidate who can operate a year round sports program as well as assist with the supervision of the aquatic center during the seasonal months between Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends.

Candidates must hold a CPR/First Aide Certification along with a Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certification and should have knowledge with a variety of sports programs. Position description below:

Department of Health and Physical Activity
The Department of Health and Physical Activity at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking Masters level graduate assistants to assist with teaching in the general physical education program, faculty and staff health and fitness program, student fitness or aquatics center, and/or research in a laboratory setting. Graduate Assistantships are available to students with a background in exercise science, athletic training, physical education, nutrition or related field. 
 The Department of Health and Physical Activity offers a Master of Science Degree with a research or clinical focus in Health and Chronic Disease, Health and Fitness or Developmental Movement. 
The program is a 36 credit that can be completed in three academic terms over a period of 12 to 15 months. 
 
Applicants are considered for a Graduate Assistantship if they achieved at least a 3.0 GPA in their undergraduate training, and demonstrate experience in fitness, aerobic, aquatics, team and individual sports and have appropriate certifications. 
Prior to consideration for a Graduate Assistantship the applicant must have applied and been accepted into the HPA graduate degree program
