Sport Performance Internship in NoVA

Unique internship opportunity:
BREAKAWAY Sport in McLean, Virginia is looking for an apprentice to become a trainer and potential employee. Breakaway Sport is an athlete training facility, specializing in team, youth athlete and elite athlete training.
Our internship candidate should have the following qualifications:


  • A degree in exercise science (or will be graduating by December) and or a certification from the NSCA
  • Able to work with kids
  • Extremely motivated
  • Ready and willing to learn
  • Energetic and personable

Candidate will be under the tutelage of Jeff Teach. Jeff is a NSCA-CSCS and USAW level 1 weightlifting certified coach. He also holds kettlebell and CrossFit certifications, and was a former resident athlete at the US Olympic Training Center for Weightlifting. Jeff was a collegiate 2-time All-American and 4-time Big Ten Champion in the Shot Put.

Candidate will learn training program design for athletes. He/she will also learn to teach Olympic lifts and kettlebells. Candidate is expected to intern for a few months with the goal that they become an employee of BREAKAWAY Sport.
