The Personal Training Internship offered at any of our state-of-the-art facilities located throughout New Jersey is a unique, comprehensive educational experience. Teamed with accomplished directors and managers each intern will utilize what they have learned in the classroom and be able to apply that knowledge in a real world setting.
Interns will:

•Participate in educational reviews of anatomy, physiology & special populations to understand each client’s needs and be able to provide the correct exercise prescription
•Enjoy full membership privileges
•Interns will have the opportunity to participate in the Fitness and Wellness Continuing Education Program. Courses taught by industry leaders include: Fundamentals 1&2, Program Design 1&2 and Coaching Skills (overview of courses & bios of instructors available upon request)
•Observe & conduct standard Orientation/Re-Evaluation processes

•Execute a Functional Movement Screening (FMS) and be able to provide recommended corrective exercises if necessary
•Participate in standard personal trainer activities: maintenance of equipment, customer service, floor appearance & exercise assistance
•Shadow personal training sessions, small group training sessions, orientations & evaluations
•Assist with programming and personal training focus of center wide events
•Learn the business of the Personal Training Department
•Learn the proper use & functions of the latest exercise equipment
•Create, plan and implement a health promotion program either one required by your college or one that you design
Cooperating colleges and universities with have the ability to customize each intern’s experience to parallel their specific interests and specialties.
